We now have a year of data under our belts regarding the 2008 hands-free cell phone laws. And yet there is no data available as to whether this new controversial law is making a difference. According to an LA Times article; the CHP handed out 48,000 of these tickest over the course of a year. And yet we have no data as to whether our roads are safer. What we do know is that at $20 - $50 a pop the state has generated somewhere between: $960,000 to $2.4 million in revenues. We do know that the Red light cameras aimed at decreasing accidents at intersections have really worked.
